30th BMW International Open opens in style with Gary Player, Sergio García and Tommy Fleetwood.

Cologne. The Flora in the Botanical Garden is one of the most
attractive locations in the cathedral city, making it the perfect
location for the official opening of the 30th BMW International
Open. Last year’s Masters winner, Sergio García (ESP), and U.S. Open
runner-up, Tommy Fleetwood (ENG), hit the symbolic opening shots
from the terrace at the Flora. Nine-time major winner Gary Player
(RSA) was also among the special guests at the gala evening to mark
the 30th anniversary of Germany’s most renowned golf tournament.

During the subsequent round of discussions, presented by Thomas
Gottschalk, BMW M Brand Ambassador Lena Gercke presented a birthday
cake to Florian Baumeister, Head of Events, Exhibitions and Sports
Marketing at BMW Germany. Another highlight of the evening was the
unveiling and German premiere of the new BMW 8 Series Coupe.
