When Ford introduced the Ford F-150 Platinum model in 2009, it sent a clear message to the driving world: trucks aren’t built just to be tough. While there was a day when trucks were intended only for work—and all that mattered was durability and towing capacity—they are now integrated into all parts of our busy lives. It’s still the vehicle you depend on to get things done; but it’s also the vehicle you use to get to meetings and take your family to the movies. The capable and refined 2015 F-150 Platinum drove Ford trucks further into the luxury market, and helped shift consumer appetite for a truck with the amenities of luxury cars. Ford is now proud to announce a new truck in this heritage of Tough Luxury, the 2016 Ford F-150 Limited. It is the most advanced, luxurious F-150 introduced to date, with well-appointed, even splendid interior features paired with advanced performance enhancements that can’t be found in any other vehicle in its class.

Stunning inside and out.

Starting with the capable F-150 as the base, Ford built the F-150 Limited from the ground up with features that make it truly unique. Aesthetically, it is ahead of the pack – with 22” polished aluminum wheels and raised dimensional LIMITED lettering on the hood, satin-finished chrome badge on the tailgate, and chrome and eucalyptus accents on the interior. It is available in many shades of luxury, including Shadow Black, Magnetic, Blue Jeans and White Platinum Metallic tri-coat.

But a pretty face will only get you so far.

Luxury features.

It also introduces equipment that set it apart from other trucks on the road. Many of these features improve the driving experience – such as BLIS® blind-spot detection with cross-traffic alert, quad-beam LED headlamps, or an optional lane-keeping system and 360-degree camera system. And when towing, the truck includes a segment-first option called Pro Trailer Backup Assist, where the driver steers instinctively by turning a knob left or right to indicate direction, and the truck automatically adjusts direction and speed. Other features are designed to further push the truck into the luxury class. This includes a panoramic vista roof to see the stars, a Sony® 10-speaker sound system, Sync 3 voice control with AppLink, and 10- way power adjustable seats with class-exclusive multi-contour massaging.

Under the hood.

Despite these refined features, the F-150 Limited is still rooted in its “Built Ford Tough” heritage. It is powered by a 365 horsepower 3.5-liter EcoBoost® V6, which tows up to 4,581 kgs with 420 lb.-ft. of torque, while still maintaining an EPA-estimated fuel economy rating of 13.8 L/100km (17 mpg) city, 9.8 L/100km (24 mpg) highway and 11.8 L/100km(20 mpg) combined. The Ford F-150 Limited is an extension of Ford’s dedication to providing a truck for every customer, at the intersection of comfort and toughness.
