Things are not always what they appear. Our friends across the pond at Ford Europe parked the 2016 Ford GT in front of a Central London shopping district, and hid one important detail: the Blue Ford Oval. They then asked passersby to guess the make of the car—the question left many shoppers scratching their heads.

Many of the world’s supercars are designed and manufactured in Europe, so it’s perhaps unsurprising that the reveal left many of them amazed by the car’s North American roots. We expect the Ford GT to continue to impress as Ford returns to European soil for 24 hours of Le Mans in 2016 for the first time since it swept the podium in 1966 with a trio of GT40s.

The car is built from the ground up with Le Mans-level speed and endurance. With advanced lightweight composites, including carbon fiber, the 2016 Ford GT has an exceptionally rigid but light chassis and state-of-the-art aerodynamics. And, of course, the next-generation EcoBoost engine—with an emphasis on “Boost”—which will propel the car around the track.
