Advance sales of the Audi TT start

“This car gives customers exactly what they expect from a compact sports car,” declared Prof. Dr. Ulrich Hackenberg, Member of the Board of Management for Technical Development at AUDI AG: “The new generation combines authentic design with dynamic driving characteristics and makes technology tangible on the road – in everything from the further-improved power-to-weight ratio, to the superior sporty handling, to the quattro drive that optimally distributes the torque in the TT between the front and rear wheels.”

The Audi virtual cockpit makes its first appearance in the TT. The fully digital instrument cluster takes the place of the analog instruments and the MMI monitor and presents diverse graphics as well as highly detailed representations on a 12.3-inch display. Behind it all is a Tegra 30 chip from the Tegra 3 series of venture partner Nvidia; Audi is the first carmaker worldwide to use the high-speed graphics processor.

Audi is offering the new model generation with a choice of three four-cylinder engines – all with turbocharging and direct injection. The Audi TT 2.0 TFSI with 169 kW (230 hp) has a starting price of EUR 35,000; the basic price of the 2.0 TDI is EUR 35,900. The turbodiesel develops 135 kW (184 hp) and achieves standard consumption of just 4.2 liters per 100 kilometers (56.0 US mpg). Its high efficiency has earned it the “ultra” cachet. The new Audi TTS is available from a price of EUR 49,100. This version has a 2.0 TFSI engine with an output of 228 kW (310 hp). The TTS consequently rates as truly high-performance – it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (62.1 mph) in 4.7 seconds.

Customers can order the new Audi TT from all Audi dealers in Germany from July 10. Advance sales of the new Audi TTS start in the fall.
