Audi reported that its May 2016 sales increased 1.6 percent to 18,728 vehicles, a total that stands as the brand’s fourth-best monthly result in the U.S.

Audi achieved its best May sales in the U.S., marking the 65th straight monthly record. The previous May record was set in 2015 with 18,428 Audi vehicles sold. Through the first five months of 2016, Audi U.S. sales have risen 4.2 percent from last year to 78,489 vehicles.

May results were bolstered by Audi SUV sales, which rose 26 percent. The Audi Q3 posted a record high of 1,719 vehicles sold for the month, a 52 percent increase over last May. Sales of the Audi Q7 rose 46 percent over last May, to 2,663 vehicles, the second-highest sales month on record for this model, second only to March 2016 sales of 3,004 vehicles.

“With the all-new Audi Q7 and Audi Q3 setting records for the month, sales of Audi luxury SUVs show no sign of slowing down,” said Mark Del Rosso, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Audi of America. “From SUVs to the R8, consumer interest across the Audi lineup indicates that we can expect to continue building momentum in the months ahead.”

The all-new Audi A4 Sedan posted sales of 2,756 vehicles in May. Year-to-date sales have increased 13 percent over 2015.

The new A3 Sportback e-tron set a monthly sales record with 361 deliveries in May and 1,589 vehicles sold year-to-date.
