Audi to present U.S. tour of FC Bayern

“In the United States, interest in international top-flight soccer is steadily growing. That’s why we’re proud to host FC Bayern München as one of the world’s best-known and most successful squads,” says Scott Keogh, President of Audi of America. “It’s an honor for us to organize the Audi Football Summit at the Red Bull Arena in New Jersey on July 31. We’re looking forward to an attractive soccer match.”

In the 2013/2014 season, FC Bayern won the German Championship for the 24th and the DFB Cup for the 17th time.  Since 2002, Audi has been a partner of the club in which it has since acquired a stake as well. All the players, coaches and officials are on the road with Audi models. Before the Audi Football Summit, FC Bayern officially opens its office in New York to drive marketing activities in the USA, so the board and squad are looking forward to their visit with particularly eager anticipation. They will be spending four days on the East Coast of the United States.

“Shaping the USA tour together with our long-standing partner Audi is a great opportunity for FC Bayern. New York City as the first stop is perfect. This is the venue of the Audi Football Summit and the American metropolis has also been home to our first foreign branch office since April,” says member of FC Bayern München’s executive board Jörg Wacker. “FC Bayern currently has more than 15 million supporters in the USA, who will have the opportunity to experience one of the world’s best teams at their fingertips during the tour.”

The meeting on July 31 at the Red Bull Arena in New Jersey now marks the third Audi Football Summit. The inaugural event took place in 2012 when FC Bayern München played against the Indian national team in New Delhi. In July 2012, the Bavarian squad competed against VfL Wolfsburg in Guangzhou, China.

The second match of the 2014 Audi Summer Tour will be held on August 6. FC Bayern’s opponent at Providence Park in Portland will be the U.S. MLS All-Star team.
