Audi to present UniCredit Ladies German Open again in 2013

For ten of the 126 entrants the tournament, which is endowed with 350,000 euros, starts with a highlight even before the first tee-off. “Providing selected participants with an automobile for the tournament week has become a cherished tradition,” says Markus Siebrecht, Head of Marketing Germany of AUDI AG. “Following last year’s Audi A5 Cabriolets the players will get to know the advantages of our SUV models with quattro drive in an Audi Q3 this time.”

Teeing off, pitching, putting – the lady with the ability to make the best use of her repertoire will not only be able to look forward to the organizer’s prize, as Audi will be giving a Q5 to the winner. Last year’s prize for the winner, an Audi A5 Cabriolet, had only been secured by the French golfer Anne-Lise Caudal in the play-off.

A hole-in-one, in other words a ball that is put into the cup with just one stroke from the tee, is a special highlight for any golfer. This year, Audi will reward the player of such a “magic stroke” at Golfpark Gut Häusern’s Hole 15, a 156-meter par 3 hole that features water hazards, with an R8 Spyder worth more than 160,000 euros. “These valuable prizes underscore the prestige enjoyed by the Ladies German Open in AUDI AG’s golf program,” states Markus Siebrecht.

The automobile brand’s commitment in 2013 again includes equipping the shuttle service. Audi is making 25 cars available to the organizer for this purpose. In addition, Audi will be featured on the grounds during the tournament with a golf terminal. Aside from a selection of current models, daily interview sessions with the players will be awaiting the visitors there.

AUDI AG’s golf commitment this year again extends beyond professional golf. The 23rd season of the Audi quattro Cup for amateurs, for instance, is starting these days. In 2012, more than 80,000 players from about 50 nations participated in 824 qualification tournaments for the world finale in South Africa. In total, far more than a million golfers have competed in the Audi quattro Cup to date. This year, regional Audi partners are again inviting players to enter the national qualification tournaments which are held as “foursomes with selected drive.” The German finale will take place at Golfresort Berlin Scharmützelsee in September. The best national amateur teams will meet for the world finale directly on the coast of the Pacific Ocean at the Trump National Golf Club near Los Angeles from October 7 to 11.

Furthermore, Audi is supporting the Süddeutsche Zeitung Business Golf Cup tournament series for the ninth year now. The first tournament in 2013 will tee off at the facility of the Wittelsbacher Golfclub on June 5. Since 2008, Audi has also been the official main sponsor of the 600,000-member German Golf Association and has already extended this partnership until 2015.
