Audi TT is “Connected Car 2014”

“The awards are testimony to our successes in the field of connectivity. Thanks to sophisticated assistance systems, connected infotainment and intelligent car‑to‑car communication we are creating connected reality,” says Prof. Dr. Ulrich Hackenberg, Board Member for Technical Development at AUDI AG. Ricky Hudi, Head of Electrics/Electronics Development, adds: “Our Audi connect services substantially boost road safety, drive comfort and efficiency. Awards like these confirm our consistent development work and encourage us to continue delivering pioneering services.”

Audi excelled in the “Navigation” category with the map display via Google Earth and Google Street View as well as with the point‑of‑interest search using voice commands. In the “Internet” category, Audi claimed victory with the high‑speed LTE data transmission, as the first automaker to completely integrate this standard into the car. In the “Entertainment” category, users voted the MMI touch and the Audi virtual cockpit into top spot.

The prize‑giving ceremony for the “Connected Car Award” will be held in January at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.
