BMW Motorrad Motorsport News: Podium finish in Brazil.

The 2019 BMW Motorrad Race Trophy is in full swing. This
season, a total of 26 championship classes in 21 racing series all
around the world are counted towards the Race Trophy ranking. Week
after week BMW riders and teams do battle for victories, titles and
Race Trophy points in these championships. “BMW Motorrad Motorsport

SuperBike Brasil: Podium at the Interlagos season-opener.

The 2019 season in the SuperBike Brasil series (BR SBK) kicked
off with podium success for the BMW Motorrad Motorsport family. Alex
Barros (BRA) from the Alex Barros Racing team rode his BMW S 1000 RR
to second place on the rostrum in the first race of the year. The
Brazilian veteran had an exciting battle for the win with Australian
Anthony West and crossed the line just 0.022 seconds behind the
winner. Danilo Lewis (BRA) from the Tecfil Havoline Racing Team was
the second best BMW rider, crossing the line in fifth place. Bruno
Corano (BRA / BMW Motorrad MotorSport) and Diego Viveiros (BRA /
Picoloko/PRT – Pitico Race Team) followed immediately behind in sixth
and seventh respectively.
 
Australian Superbike Championship: Round two at Wakefield Park.

Four weeks after the curtain raiser at Phillip Island (AUS), the
Australian Superbike Championship (ASBK) held its second round of the
2019 season at Wakefield Park (AUS) at the weekend. There were two
races scheduled for BMW S 1000 RR riders. Glenn Allerton (AUS) from
the NextGen Motorsports/Maxima BMW team was the highest-placed BMW
racer, finishing the two races in 15th and 11th positions. His
team-mate Ted Collins (AUS) twice crossed the line in 16th place. Paul
van der Heiden (RSA / Moto Adelaide) finished 21st on both occasions.
