French Superbike Championship: One-two result for BMW racers
at Le Mans.

Made-to-measure start for BMW racers in the 2019 French Superbike
Championship (FSBK): at the very first event of the season at Le Mans
(FRA), they secured a one-two win. The 2017 champion and last season’s
runner-up, Kenny Foray (FRA) of Tecmas Racing Team, won the first of
Sunday’s two races on his BMW S 1000 RR. His team-mate Mathieu Gines
(FRA) rounded off the success in second place. In race two, Gines
finished in second place on the podium once again while Foray finished
sixth. Maxime Bonnot (FRA), also from the Tecmas Racing Team, finished
in tenth and seventh places, claiming first place in the Superbike
Challenger (FSBK Ch) class in both races.

 

French European Bikes Championship: Victorious start to the
season for the BMW S 1000 RR.

The BMW S 1000 RR riders kicked off the season with a one-two result
in the French European Bikes Championship (FR EU) as well. The first
races of the year were also held at Le Mans (FRA). Team MDS’s Jonathan
Germany (FRA) won race one on Saturday. Cyril Brunet-Lugardon (FRA /
Gers Moto Vitesse Ordannaise) secured second place on the podium. The
pair finished on the podium once again in Sunday’s race when Germany
took second, while Brunet-Lugardon finished in third place. The 2017
and 2018 champion, Florian Brunet-Lugardon (FRA / Gers Moto Vitesse
Ordannaise), finished 11th in both races at the season opener.

 

MotoAmerica: Season opener at Road Atlanta.

The new MotoAmerica AMA Road Racing Series (MA) season got underway
at Road Atlanta (USA) at the weekend. The two Superbike (MA SBK) and
Superstock (MA STK) classes will be classified for the BMW Motorrad
Race Trophy. The best-placed BMW rider in the Superbike class was
Geoff May (USA / Ameris Bank / CCFOfficeSolutions.com), in tenth and
eighth places. A new face in BMW team Scheibe Racing this year is Jake
Gagne (USA), who has previously contested the FIM Superbike World
Championship (WorldSBK). Gagne finished the first race in eighth place
but retired in race two. Canadian Samuel Trépanier (Blysk Racing)
crossed the finish line in 12th and 11th places.
One race in the Superstock class was held in Road Atlanta, in which
Travis Wyman (USA / Weir Everywhere Racing) only narrowly missed out
on the podium in fourth place.

 

South African Superbike Championship: Lance Isaacs dominant at Zwartkops.

The South African Superbike Championship (RSA SBK) held its second
race event of the season at Zwartkops, South Africa, at the weekend
and race day on Saturday couldn’t have gone any better for BMW racer
Lance Isaacs (RSA) and his team LIR / Supabets Gaming Group. Isaacs
won both races and also set the fastest race lap in both events.
Fellow BMW rider Harry Timmerman (RSA / Sandton Motorrad APPC)
finished the two races in tenth and ninth place.

 

All Japan Road Race Championship: First race of the year at Motegi.

At Motegi, Japan, the 2019 season of the All Japan Road Race
Championship (JP SBK) got underway at the weekend. BMW Team TONE RT
SYNCEDGE 4413 with rider Hoshino Tomaya (JPN) took part in the action.
He finished in 15th and 14th places in the two races.
