GT: BMW teams take delivery of the BMW M6 GT3.

Many BMW teams have had plenty to be pleased about over the past
week, as they received their new BMW M6 GT3s. In Schubert Motorsport,
ROWE Racing, Walkenhorst Motorsport, BMW Sports Trophy Team Studie,
Team Alnex, BMW Team SRM and Boutsen Ginion Racing, seven BMW customer
racing teams can now work on their new cars for the coming GT season
in their own workshops. This heralds the phase, in which they prepare
the BMW M6 GT3 for its first tests and race outings. This was a
particularly special moment for Australian outfit BMW Team SRM, as
team principal Steven Richards’ (AU) team returns to the Australian GT
Championship in March after a 20-year absence. The other teams must
wait a little longer for their first races. Schubert Motorsport, ROWE
Racing and Walkenhorst Motorsport are preparing meticulously for their
starts in the VLN and at the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring (DE). The
first race on the Nordschleife (DE) takes place on 2nd April. For ROWE
Racing and Boutsen Ginion Racing, the Blancpain GT Series season gets
underway in Misano (IT) from 8th to 10th April. One week later,
Schubert Motorsport takes to the track in Oschersleben (DE) for the
first round of the ADAC GT Masters. BMW Sports Trophy Team Studie and
Team Alnex will contest the first race of the season in the Japanese
GT Championship in Okayama (JP) on 9th/10th April.

DTM: Glock, Farfus, Tomczyk and Félix da Costa attend the
International Media Launch of the BMW M2 Coupé at Laguna Seca.

The official presentation of the new BMW M2 Coupé, the successor to
the successful BMW 1 Series M Coupé, is currently taking place at the
car’s International Media Launch. Among those present at Laguna Seca
(US) were BMW drivers Timo Glock (DE) and Augusto Farfus (BR).
Generating 370 hp, the new coupé guarantees uncompromising power and
driving pleasure aplenty. The entry-level model among the M
automobiles has just as much potential and at least as much agility
and precision as the more powerful BMW M3 and BMW M4, but in a compact
body shape. Glock and Farfus, for whom the new DTM season kicks off in
Hockenheim (DE) on 7th May, were immediately impressed. After their
drives at Laguna Seca, they both agreed: “The new BMW M2 Coupé has
fantastic speed and is in no way inferior to its bigger brothers. This
car is great fun to drive – and, of course, to drift in around such a
spectacular racetrack as Laguna Seca,” said Glock, summing up the
driving experience. Next week, Martin Tomczyk (DE) and António Félix
da Costa (PT) will travel to Laguna Seca, where they will gain their
first impressions of the BMW M2 Coupé.

DTM: Wittmann, Glock, Spengler and Farfus test in Monteblanco.

Preparations for the 2016 DTM season enter a crucial phase this week,
with the first tests of the year. From 23rd to 25th February, Marco
Wittmann (DE), Timo Glock (DE), Bruno Spengler (CA) and Augusto Farfus
(BR) will take their place in the cockpit of the BMW M4 DTM and
complete important test and set-up work on the car. The only official
ITR tests take place in Hockenheim (DE) from 4th to 8th April. The
same venue will host the first two races of the new season on 7th and
8th May.
