British Touring Car Championship: Collard wins in Croft,
Tordoff extends championship lead.

The West Surrey Racing team continued its winning ways in the British
Touring Car Championship (BTCC). On the fifth race weekend of the
season, Rob Collard (GB) topped the podium in Croft after finishing
first in his BMW 125i M Sport. Collard won the second of three races
that took place on Sunday. In the other two races, he finished in
seventh and fourth positions respectively. His team-mate Sam Tordoff
(GB) extended the lead in the BTCC championship standings in Croft.
Tordoff finished in second place in the turbulent third race of the
day – heavy rainfall started just before the race began. In the
previous two races, he had finished in 13th and eighth. The strong
performance from West Surrey Racing was completed by Jack Goff (GB),
who drove his BMW 125i M Sport to two fourth places, as well as
finishing in ninth in the other race.

DTM: Blomqvist and Félix da Costa at the wheel of the BMW M2 Coupé.

During the break between the DTM races at the Lausitzring (DE) and
the Norisring (DE), the BMW DTM drivers Tom Blomqvist (GB) and António
Félix da Costa (PT) are making an appearance in the Hungarian capital
of Budapest. As part of a media event at the Hungaroring,
international journalists have the chance to get to know the new BMW
M2 on the track. Last week, Blomqvist showed the media representatives
just how dynamic the movement of the new BMW M2 Coupé is. “The BMW M2
Coupé has enormous speed, and its agility and handling are just
fantastic,” said Blomqvist. “It was great fun to be driving it on the
Hungaroring. The way it behaves in the tight bends and through the
climbs and descents was very impressive.” Félix da Costa will travel
to Budapest at the start of next week, before continuing to the
Norisring. Blomqvist and Félix da Costa will be back in their BMW M4
DTMs there next weekend, battling for points in the seventh and eighth
races of the 2016 DTM season.
