Spa-Francorchamps. BMW Team MTEK has finished in fourth place
in a World Endurance Championship (WEC) 6 Hours of
Spa-Francorchamps (BEL) with a #82 BMW M8 GTE and drivers António
Félix da Costa (POR) and Augusto Farfus (BRA).

The #81 sister-car of Martin Tomcyzk (GER) and Nick Catsburg
(NED) finished in ninth place in a GTE-Pro category during a finish of the
weather-affected race. The penultimate turn of a WEC played horde to
sunshine, rain, accost and snow, creation tyre choices and plan calls
pivotal to success.

Reactions to a 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps:

Rudolf Dittrich (General Manager BMW Motorsport Vehicle Development):

“Our competition here in Spa was really varied, with all sorts of weather
conditions, from fever to accost to snow. The GTE-Pro margin is very
good balanced, so a spectators could see sparkling position battles
in all weathers via a race. It’s a contrition a group didn’t
conduct to get a improved outcome though we are looking brazen to a final
of a WEC Super Season in Le Mans.”

Ernest Knoors (BMW Team MTEK, Team Principal):

“The competition was totally dominated by a continue today. All
teams were perplexing to be in a right place during a right time and on
a right tyres. The final reserve automobile was badly timed for us and lost
us a plan though that’s a approach these races go. What we do know is
that we are really rival underneath soppy and dry conditions and a pit
organisation did a illusory job. We conduct to Le Mans well-prepared.”

António Félix da Costa (#82 BMW M8 GTE, 4th):

“It was an violent competition where we went by each possible
continue condition – dry, drizzle, rain, complicated rain, sleet, accost and
sleet – during times, we couldn’t trust what we was seeing! It was good fun
and we had a good automobile in both a dry and complicated wet. We were in P2 and
afterwards a continue altered and we took a gamble, though afterwards a competition was
red-flagged and a play didn’t work. The automobile and group has come a
prolonged approach in 12 months of a WEC and we’re prepared to lapse to Le Mans.”

Augusto Farfus (#82 BMW M8 GTE, 4th):

“It was a pell-mell race! At one indicate it looked good for us but
afterwards a continue altered again. We gambled during a finish though it didn’t
compensate off and we missed a podium. It’s a contrition since we were very
clever in use and subordinate and if a continue had been good, I
consider we would have been really strong.”

Martin Tomczyk (#81 BMW M8 GTE, 9th):

“Obviously we came here to win, and in all use sessions and
subordinate we were strong. But, in a race, a continue affected
everything. The competition became all about plan and this is where we
mislaid it.”

Nick Catsburg (#81 BMW M8 GTE, 9th):

“It was a uncanny competition with changing conditions. In a final half
hour, we had a lot of gait on a new tyres and we consider we were going
to make adult some places, though we didn’t get a possibility to stand because
a red dwindle came. It didn’t go a approach today, though we are prepared for
all a continue that Le Mans might bring.”
