TORONTO (Friday, November 28, 2014) – Chevrolet was honoured with the recognition of the Tahoe and Corvette Stingray, as “Car of the Year” in their respective categories by Auto123.com.  The all-new Chevrolet Tahoe was named the “2015 Full-Size Utility of the Year” and the Corvette Stingray the “2015 Convertible of the Year.”

“We’re honoured to have two of our iconic Chevrolet nameplates recognized by the Auto123.com team,” said Bob McClelland, brand director for Chevrolet in Canada. “Both the Chevrolet Tahoe and Corvette Stingray redefine their segments, providing the world class design, performance and technology our customers have come to expect from Chevrolet.”

The Auto123.com Awards consist of a judging panel of voting journalists cumulating their scores in each of the 20 vehicle categories.  These were the 6th annual awards presented in Toronto, Ontario.

Redesigned inside and out, the 2015 Tahoe was developed to be more functional and refined, while offering more safety features and a greater range of advanced technologies for today’s connected customers.  The all-new version of the industry’s best-selling full-size SUV is also more efficient – including nearly 10-percent greater highway efficiency – thanks to a range of vehicle-wide enhancements that include more aerodynamic designs and a new, direct-injected EcoTec3 5.3L engine

The 2015 Corvette Stingray Convertible is the most powerful standard Corvette model ever, with an estimated 455 horsepower and 460 lb.-ft. of torque. It is also the most capable standard Corvette model ever, able to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in less than four seconds and achieve more than 1g in cornering grip. The technologically advanced foundation is an aluminum frame structure so strong, no structural reinforcements are needed for the convertible model. The only changes are limited to accommodations for the folding top and repositioned safety belt mounts.

The Corvette Stingray convertible features a fully electronic top that can be lowered remotely using the key fob. The top can also be opened or closed on the go, at speeds of up to 50 km/h (30 mph). Its folding mechanism is all-new and enables the top to be lowered in 21 seconds.
