Munich (DE), 8th Aug 2016. After starting during a behind of the
whole 41-car margin in a IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship
Continental Tire Road Race Showcase, a dual BMW Team RLL BMW M6 GTLM
cars finished third and eighth in a GTLM class. John Edwards (US)
and Lucas Luhr (DE), pushing a series 100 car, had a clever day to
finish third, scoring a duo’s initial lectern of a deteriorate and the
60th lectern finish for BMW Team RLL given 2009. Teammates Bill
Auberlen (US) and Dirk Werner (DE), pushing a series 25 sister car,
finished eighth. The GTLM category win went to a series 4 Corvette.

After both cars had been relegated to a behind of a grid due to an
transgression of a manners in qualifying, Luhr, starting a series 100
BMW M6 GTLM, and Auberlen, starting a series 25 car, took a green
dwindle in positions 40 and 41. However, by a fifth path they had passed
a GTD category personality with Auberlen in front of Luhr, and afterwards the
quarrel to pierce behind to a front was on.

Bobby Rahal (Team Principal BMW Team RLL):

“I consider we have to feel flattering happy, given where we started. It was
a trouble-free competition for us and we were means to take advantage of some
mistakes by others. After a bad fitness during Lime Rock we have recovered.
All credit for a group for changing a cars so quickly. So now on to
a subsequent one during VIR.”

John Edwards (Number 100 BMW M6 GTLM, 3rd place):

“It is not satisfactory to contend we haven’t had gait via a year, but
we have had a ton of behind luck. We had a flattering good quarrel going on
with a integrate of cars and a approach a competition was maturation towards the
finish we suspicion we had shuffled behind a bit, though a final yellow bunched
everybody up. It was a bit of disharmony though we came out a other side
with a podium. we unequivocally enjoyed this competition and it is good to get some
champagne again.”

Lucas Luhr (Number 100 BMW M6 GTLM, 3rd place):

“Finally we have a good result, even if it was a small bit propitious at
a end. But over a weekend we have been on gait and had
performance, detached from in qualifying. we consider finally now a monkey
is off a back. For everybody in a 100 organisation this is great, as we
were removing frustrated. For all of us currently was a day.”

Bill Auberlen (Number 25 BMW M6 GTLM, 8th place):

“Congratulations to a 100 car. They did an glorious job. It was
one of those weekends when we were on a behind feet from a impulse we
got here, and we never utterly got a stride. Every small thing that
could go a wrong approach did, though this group never quits.”

Dirk Werner (Number 25 BMW M6 GTLM, 8th place):

“It was a tough day for Bill and me. We didn’t have a good start to
a weekend and this kind of went by to a finish of a race.
There was a conditions where we attempted something and were anticipating for
some fitness when we pitted early, though it didn’t work out. For certain this
weekend was really difficult, though it was good for a group to get a
lectern with a 100 car.”
