1. Find that Sweet Spot
Ideally, you’re looking for a space that’s about five feet longer than your vehicle. That’ll give you plenty of room to manoeuvre your ride for the perfect park job.
2. Slow Your Roll
While signaling, slow your vehicle down and position it parallel to the parked car in front of the empty spot.
3. Keep Your Eye on the Prize
Before backing up, have a look over your shoulder to assess the space, making sure it’s safe to proceed.
4. Back It on Up
Perform an “S turn” by turning your steering wheel towards the spot and slowly backing in. When your front door is lined up with the rear bumper of the car in front of you, turn the wheel in the opposite direction. Straighten out as you continue to reverse.
5. Stay Centred
Shift back to drive, and continue to straighten out while centring your vehicle.
Bonus:
If your Ford comes with Active Park Assist, simply push the control button to start and let your vehicle slide in to the perfect parallel park.
