Oshawa, Ontario (November 1, 2016) — Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac dealers delivered 22,219 vehicles in October 2016. Total GM Canada retail sales for the 2016 calendar year-to-date are up 1 per cent.
John Roth, vice president, sales, service and marketing for GM Canada said, “2016 is a year of excitement and transition for Buick with strong sales in SUVs, one of the fastest-growing segments in the industry. Total sales for Buick SUVs grew by 33 per cent year-over-year with the all-new Envision, Encore and Enclave driving the growth.”
Roth added, “Quality ranks as one of the top reasons customers choose Buick and with industry-leading owner satisfaction, performance and safety features, there’s never been a better time to take a fresh look at Buick’s range of premium SUVs and cars.”
October 2016 Brand Sales Highlights:
- Chevrolet car sales were up 2 per cent for the month driven by launch products including the Spark (up 465 per cent), Malibu (up 46 per cent), Volt (up 66 per cent) and Camaro (up 82 per cent)
- Buick total calendar year-to-date sales have increased by 12 per cent
- GMC Canyon sales were up 14 per cent and the GMC premium full-sized SUVs (Yukon/Yukon XL) were up 46 per cent
- Cadillac SUV sales continue to be strong, up 1 per cent for the month driven by sales of the SRX XT5 which are up 6 per cent
Total GM sales were down 9 per cent for the month of October 2016. Data is not adjusted for the difference in selling days. October 2016 had 25 selling days and October 2015 had 27 selling days.
