Oshawa, Ontario (February 1, 2017) — Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac dealers delivered 14,605 total vehicles in January, an increase of 1.5 per cent year over year.  This builds on the strong close to 2016, when GM Canada crossed the 200,000 threshold for retail sales with only four brands.

“Our strategy remains disciplined for 2017 focusing on building our brands, growing retail sales and limiting our daily rental deliveries to produce the best value for our customers,” said John Roth, vice-president, sales, service and marketing for GM Canada.  “2017 is an important year for GM Canada with key product launches including the Chevrolet Bolt EV, which we began delivering to customers in late January fulfilling the brand’s promise to offer a long-range electric vehicle at an affordable price.”

Named the 2017 North American Car of the Year, the Bolt EV offers an U.S. EPA-estimated 383 kilometres of range on a full charge, enabling owners to go beyond average daily driving needs with range to spare.

Roth added, “The addition of the Bolt EV strengthens Chevrolet’s sales leadership among electric vehicles alongside the Chevrolet Volt. In fact, Chevrolet has sold more EV’s in Canada than any other brand.”
