Oshawa, Ontario (October 3, 2016) —   Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac dealers delivered 25,466 vehicles in September 2016 versus 24,960 in September 2015, an increase of 2 per cent. GM’s retail sales were up 4 per cent for the month resulting in the best September retail sales since 2009.    

John Roth, vice president, sales, service and marketing for GM Canada said, “Remaining focused on our retail strategy is driving growth and our product line-up has never been stronger.  Our year of nine launches continues this Fall with the arrival of the Chevrolet Cruze Hatchback, GMC Acadia and Cadillac CT6 now at dealerships.”

September 2016 Brand Sales Highlights:

  • Chevrolet had its best total sales for the month since 2007 with a 5 per cent increase that includes a 12 per cent increase in sales of cars and crossovers (driven by the brand’s five new launch products – Spark, Cruze, Malibu, Volt and Camaro).  Chevrolet continues to the be the fastest growing pickup truck brand in Canada through sales of the Chevrolet Colorado (up 58 per cent)
  • Sales of Buick SUVs grew by 43 per cent for the month led by sales of the all-new Envision, Encore and Enclave
  • Sales of the GMC Canyon were up 39 per cent for the month and the GMC Yukon were up 50 per cent versus 2015
  • Cadillac had its best September total sales ever driven by sales of the XTS (up 40 per cent), CTS (up 67 per cent) and Escalade (up 19 per cent)
