Oshawa, Ontario (November 3, 2015) — Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac dealers led the industry for the month of October delivering 23,268 vehicles versus 22,002 in October 2014, an increase of 5.8 per cent. Total GM Canada sales for the 2015 calendar year to date are up 5.5 per cent.    

John Roth, vice president, sales, service and marketing for GM Canada said, “GM Canada was the industry’s top seller once again in October because of strong retail customer demand for our Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac cars and trucks. Our year over year Chevrolet and GMC trucks were up 15.2 per cent in October while our Cadillac sales increased 46.5 per cent.”

Roth added, “We are also enjoying very strong customer interest in our technology leadership in key areas like OnStar 4G LTE Wi-Fi that allows passengers to live stream on up to seven devices at a time, as well as seamless voice activated Apple Car Play and Android Auto.” 

October 2015 Brand Sales Highlights:

  • Chevrolet sales grew again in October up 2.2 per cent driven by sales of the Canadian-built Equinox crossover (up 25.1 per cent), the all-new 2016 Chevrolet Volt (up 89.7 per cent), Corvette (up 46 per cent), and Chevrolet’s pickup truck portfolio which is up 23 per cent calendar year to date. Chevrolet posted its best retail sales month in ten years.  
  • Buick Encore sales are up 13.1 per cent for the month while Regal sales are up 24.5 per cent in 2015.
  • GMC total sales are up 13 per cent for the month, marking the brand’s 16th consecutive month of sales growth.  October’s strong performance was fueled by GMC’s pickup truck portfolio, which is up 23.9 per cent for the month.
  • Cadillac sales for the month of October are up 46.5 per cent, driven by sales of the SRX (up 33.1 per cent), ATS (up 41.9 per cent) and CTS (up 70.4 per cent). So far in 2015, Cadillac sales are up 18 per cent.

Data is not adjusted for the difference in selling days October 2015 had 27 selling days and October 2014 had 26 selling days.
