For the 2014 SEMA Show, Honda enlisted the services of six creative automotive entrepreneurs to explore the tuning potential of the all-new Honda Fit by creating their personal vision for the compact sensation. Their efforts were chronicled on Tumblr.com where fans could vote for their favorite builds. All of these exciting new Fits are on display in the Honda booth at the SEMA Show this week. Read below for details and to see which one took home the prize as Fan Favorite in the 2015 Fit Performance Project.
Also on display at the Honda booth are two specially prepared vehicles from Honda Performance Development (HPD), including a 2015 Fit B-Spec concept race car, and a very special CR-Z built by HPD to pace the IndyCar racing series.
Honda is also showcasing a Dallara IndyCar chassis—powered by Honda—just like the car driven by Ryan Hunter-Reay to victory at this year’s Indianapolis 500 race.

HPD 2015 Honda Fit B-SPEC Concept Race Car
Built for SCCA club racing, World Challenge, and Canadian Touring Car B-SPEC rules, this Fit has been developed by HPD to be raced in 2015. Designed to be an entry-level category, the B-SPEC class features showroom stock racing cars utilizing stock engines and chassis, fitted with competition roll cages, racing seats and other safety equipment; and manufacturer-approved suspension components, tires and wheels.

HPD Supercharged CR-Z IndyCar Series Pace Car

HPD built this high-performance CR-Z to showcase the effectiveness of its line of performance parts for the CR-Z in a most demanding role—pacing the 2014 IndyCar racing series.
Originally addressing demand for a higher-performance CR-Z, HPD expanded on an earlier CR-Z engine concept to create the supercharger package, as well as chassis and body components. HPD’s enhancements to the CR-Z improve acceleration, turning and stopping by supercharging the engine with a sport exhaust, developing a sport suspension, designing wheels with high performance tires, and adding sport brakes.

Feeling the Fit had been neglected by tuners, Kenny Vinces’ mission with his build was to showcase the 2015 Fit as a great platform for the tuner world. The bold cockpit compliments the charcoal and gold exterior accents with Katzkin Tuscany leather seat covers with perforated raven inserts and charcoal contrast stitching in the seats and door panels. Eibach Pro Kit performance springs set the aggressive stance on 19-inch “rotiform” IND-t wheels with Pirelli P Zero performance tires. MAD Industries, ComposiMo and Honda Power Sports teamed to pump up the wow factor with a fully customized matching Honda Grom that neatly fits inside the Fit with room for gear.

Voted the Fan Favorite in the 2015 Fit Performance Project
After having built two previous Honda Fit’s for the SEMA show, designer Tjin Edition knew that for their third installment they had to pull out all the stops for their Unique Fabrication built Fit. Following their signature build style, but wanting to add some flavor and flare to the build, Tjin Edition’s goal was to build the ultimate street Fit but with a wide and aggressive stance. Andretti Autorsport DHL Indianapolis 500-Winning IndyCar (replica)
Honda-powered Ryan Hunter-Reay won the 98th running of the Indianapolis 500 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, edging Helio Castroneves by six hundredths of a second in the second-closest finish in “500” history. Hunter-Reay’s victory was the first Indy 500 triumph in his IndyCar career. This DHL livered show car was prepared by Andretti Autosport for display in the lobby of Honda Performance Development.
