Hyundai Brand Highlights

“Through the first two months of 2018 our SUVs continue to deliver and our car-to-SUV mix creeps closer to the industry with 39 percent of our sales coming from SUVs,” said John Angevine, director, National Sales, Hyundai Motor America. “Despite an overall decline to start the year, we remain highly optimistic that we can take greater advantage of the SUV craze as Kona enters dealerships in larger numbers.”

The products and corporate initiatives introduced at the start of the year demonstrate Hyundai’s technology leadership across a wide range of products and commitment to improving customer experiences. In early February at the Chicago Auto Show, Hyundai announced the national availability of Shopper Assurance, making it easier and faster for customers to buy a new Hyundai, unveiled the redesigned 2018 Sonata Hybrid and Plug-in Hybrid and developed a new partnership with Bryan Herta Autosport to compete in the 2018 Pirelli World Challenge Touring Car Racing (TCR) class. Hyundai vehicles also received prestigious third-party recognition as Elantra earned an IIHS Top Safety Pick+, Tucson was named the most dependable Small SUV by J.D. Power, and Sonata was awarded Kelley Blue Book’s 5-Year Cost to Own award for the mid-size class. On the international stage, visitors to PyeongChang had the opportunity to experience Hyundai’s world-first, next-generation self-driven fuel cell electric vehicle, NEXO.

The month began with Hyundai’s emotional Super Bowl commercial that featured its non-profit organization, Hyundai Hope On Wheels. Hyundai owners were surprised with an in-person thank you from pediatric cancer survivors for the hope they provided through donations to pediatric cancer research with the purchase of every Hyundai vehicle over the last 20 years. The spot finished inside the top 10 of the USA TODAY Ad Meter and has received more than 21 million views on YouTube.
