Jeep® Gladiator Named ‘Motoring TV 2020 Truck of the Year’

The Jeep® Gladiator – the most capable midsize truck ever – has been named ‘Motoring TV 2020 Truck of the Year.’

The recognition comes from the veteran expert hosts of Canada’s longest running weekly television series, which has aired on TSN since 1988. Motoring TV, hosted by Brad Diamond, Jim Kenzie, Howard Elmer and more, has delivered informative and entertaining automotive video reviews and features for more than 30 years.

“Choosing the Jeep Gladiator as Motoring TV’s Truck of the Year is a nod to the style and engineering of the truck, but also to the Jeep legacy and the effort it took to bring this truck to market,” said Howard Elmer, Motoring TV’s truck expert. “After 28 years without a pickup, Jeep is back with a midsize truck that combines the best of the two worlds, off-road and utility. The historic Gladiator name graces this newest member of the Jeep family and, while it is based on the Wrangler, it truly is a truck. Well done, Jeep.”

The Motoring TV 2020 Truck of the Year award is just the latest third-party accolade for Jeep Gladiator, the most capable midsize pickup truck on the market today. Last month, Gladiator was also named North American Truck of the Year, along with other recent “best of” awards from Canadian automotive media outlets like Autotrader.ca and Guide de l’Auto.

“Motoring TV has some of the most seasoned automotive experts in Canada in front of the camera,” said Reid Bigland, President and CEO, FCA Canada. “So their endorsement of Jeep Gladiator as Truck of the Year carries considerable weight — almost as much weight as our all-new midsize truck can!”

Jeep Gladiator continues to enhance its credentials as well. Just last week, the 2020 Jeep Gladiator Mojave made its Canadian debut at the Canadian International AutoShow in Toronto. Gladiator Mojave is the first Desert Rated Jeep and represents the ultimate in high-speed off-road capability and performance in grueling desert and sand environments. Enhancements include industry-exclusive FOX hydraulic jounce bumpers and 64-mm (2.5-inch) internal bypass shocks with external reservoirs to bolster Gladiator Mojave’s high-speed sand-running credentials.
