Thirteen trucks to transport the entire stage equipment across Germany – MAN Tattoo Trucks as eye-catcher

Thirteen trucks to transport the entire stage equipment across Germany – MAN Tattoo Trucks as eye-catcher Rock star Peter Maffay started his new tour of Germany on January 15 with an opening concert in Hamburg. The musician and his band will be filling the republic´s largest halls on nineteen dates through until mid-February.

MAN is providing support for the complex logistics. Thirteen imposing TGX trucks will be transporting 65 tons of extensive stage equipment from performance to performance. Six of the trucks bear individual designs, these spectacular MAN Tattoo Trucks being the result of an international design competition. The aim was to creatively transform the lyrics from Maffay´s new album “Wenn das so ist” (“If that´s the case”) into shapes and color on a truck.

The team responsible for the organization is leaving nothing to chance. “The tour is extremely strenuous and geared to a tight schedule,” Peter Maffay explains. “It´s vital that we can rely on the technology and transport – in this case, MAN is our first choice. And the Tattoo Trucks are a real eye-catcher. You don´t see works of art like this every day on the autobahn.”

As well as sufficient HP and fascinating design, the trucks also provide all kinds of comfort for drivers. The cabins offer optimal headroom, beds and plenty of storage space for luggage. According to Peter Maffay, “The drivers should feel comfortable over long periods. They sleep in the trucks, yet have to be top fit every day. So a well-equipped, air-conditioned cabin is a great asset.”
