Volkswagen Group honors 45 vocational trainees from 19 countries, including four young talents from the MAN Group
For the fifteenth time, the Volkswagen Group has honored its best vocational trainees around the globe with the “Best Apprentice Award”. Twelve women and 33 men from 19 countries and five continents received the award for their outstanding performance and specialist competence as vocational trainees.
As in recent years, four young talents at the MAN Group received the award: Gerhard Pentz, foundry mechanics (MAN Diesel Turbo, Augsburg), Alexander Westermair, business administration (MAN Truck Bus, Munich), Maurice Simon Stahl, industrial mechanics (MAN Diesel Turbo, Oberhausen), and Korbinian Röde, automotive mechatronics (MAN Truck Bus Service, Siegsdorf). The German Chamber of Industry and Commerce had previously honored Gerhard Pentz at MAN Diesel Turbo in Augsburg as national winner in terms of commitment, knowledge, and skills in his vocational training career.
In Wolfsburg, the “Best Apprentice Award 2015” was presented by the Chairman of the Board of Management of Volkswagen AG Matthias Müller, by Dr. Horst Neumann, Member of the Board of Management responsible for Human Resources and Organization, and the Chairman of the General and Group Works Councils Bernd Osterloh.
“We are very proud and happy that our young talents received this award,” says MAN SE’s Chief Human Resources Officer Josef Schelchshorn. “The award goes to show that vocational trainings at the MAN Group meet the highest quality standards. And for a good reason: We rely on outstanding young talents to be right up there at the front in future.”
Training young talent is of great importance at MAN. More than 600 youths from across 15 nations began their vocational training within the MAN Group in September alone.
