Mazda Canada announces sales results for April 2013

— All-new Mazda6 maintains strong sales momentum —

TORONTO, May 1, 2013 /CNW/ – Mazda Canada announced sales for April 2013
today totaling 6,682, which represents a decrease of 5% compared to
April 2012. Total year-to-date sales of 23,420 are up by 1% over the
first four months of 2012.

Sales of the all-new SKYACTIV Mazda6 shot up by 451% in April, making it
the best April sales since 2009. SKYACTIV Technology-equipped vehicles
accounted for nearly 60% of total vehicles sold in April.

“With the addition of the all-new Mazda6 with the new 2.5L SKYACTIV-G
engine to our line-up, more and more consumers are experiencing what
SKYACTIV is all about,” stated David Klan, Senior Director of Sales,
Marketing and Regional Operations at Mazda Canada. “The Mazda6 provides
a driving experience like no other midsize sedan, combined with design
and quality that is second to none.”

The refreshed CX-9 and CX-5 also experienced positive gains in April,
increasing 114% and 9%, respectively. The 2014 CX-5 is now available
with an all-new 2.5L gasoline engine which produces 184 horsepower and
185 lb-ft of torque while still maintaining the excellent fuel economy
standards set by the 2.0L CX-5 one year ago.
