Mazda Canada reports sales for February 2016

RICHMOND HILL, ON, March 1, 2016 /CNW/ – Mazda Canada Inc. (MCI) today reported February sales of 3,942 vehicles, representing an increase of 3.4 percent versus last year. Year-to-date sales through February are up 4.4 percent versus last year, with 7,325 vehicles sold.

Key February 2016 sales notes:

  • MCI’s best-selling model continues to be the Mazda3, with 1,450 vehicles sold in February.
  • Mazda CX-5 had its best February sales ever with 1,386 vehicles sold, which is an increase of 8.7 percent versus February 2015.
  • Mazda’s all-new CX-3 sold 639 vehicles in February, and is the third highest seller in the Mazda lineup, behind the CX-5 and Mazda3.
  • Mazda6 enjoys a 34.0 percent increase in sales versus February 2015.
  • With the recent addition of the CX-3, Mazda’s line of CX crossover vehicles continue a strong growth trend, with sales increasing by 61.7 percent in February. 
  • As spring approaches, consumers started dreaming of warmer weather, sending February sales for the MX-5 up 426.7 percent, tying February 2008 for the best MX-5 sales ever in the month of February.
  • SKYACTIV Technology proves to be the key between performance and fuel efficiency as customers demand a no compromise solution. 92.3 percent of Mazda vehicles sold in February were equipped with SKYACTIV Technology.
