Mazda Canada reports sales for January 2018

RICHMOND HILL, ON, Feb. 1, 2018 /CNW/ – Mazda Canada Inc. (MCI) today reported January sales of 4,416 vehicles, representing an increase of 10.2 percent versus January 2017. This is the best January sales month for Mazda Canada in ten years.

Key January 2018 sales notes:

  • CX-5 started the year as the best-selling model in the Mazda lineup, ahead of the perennially best-selling Mazda3 compact car. CX-5 had its best January sales ever with 1,782 vehicles sold, which is an increase of 13.3 percent year-over-year (YOY).
  • Posting its best-ever January since first going on sale in 2007, the CX-9 finished the month up 27.5 percent YOY.
  • The CX-3 recorded its 6th consecutive record sales month, with 710 vehicles sold in the month of January. This number represents an increase of 51.7 percent versus January of last year.
  • Mazda6 also enjoyed a solid 65.0 percent gain in January sales, as the midsize sedan segment dipped by 29.2 percent.
  • Mazda’s CX-line, including the CX-3, CX-5 and CX-9, led the sales charge in January, resulting in Mazda’s best January sales in 10 years. Collectively, Mazda sold 2,761 crossovers in the month of January, marking an increase of 22.6 percent YOY.
  • Among CX-line buyers, Mazda’s i-ACTIV All-Wheel Drive option continues to be a favorite, with 79.8 percent of customers choosing the AWD option in January.
