Mazda Canada reports sales for July 2014

TORONTO, Aug. 1, 2014 /CNW/ – Mazda Canada announced sales for July 2014
today totaling 7,036, which is an increase of 1% compared to July 2013.
Total year-to-date sales of 43,335 are up by 1% versus 2013.

Sales in July were led by the compact Mazda3 with 4,133 sold, increasing
14% versus July 2013. 98% of all Mazda3s sold in July were equipped
with the fuel-efficient SKYACTIV Technology, which also accounted for
88% of all Mazda vehicles sold in the month of July. Sales of the new
Mazda3 have improved dramatically over the last four months, forcing
Mazda to move up production of the 2015MY Mazda3 to keep up with
increased demand.

The CX-5 was once again the second-best selling model for Mazda in July,
with sales of 1,871 units. Year-to-date the CX-5 is up by 8% versus
2013.

from the city-sized Mazda2 to the seven-passenger CX-9 and it shows
when you get in the driver’s seat.”

July Highlights

  • CX-9 sales rose 33% compared to July 2013, best July sales since 2010
  • Mazda3 sales increased 14% versus July 2013, best July sales since 2010
  • CX-5 sales are up 8% year-to-date
  • Mazda5 sales have increased by 11% year-to-date
  • SKYACTIV Technology vehicles accounted for 88% of all sales in July
  • Sales increased despite managed fleet sales reduction of 97%
    year-over-year
