Mazda Canada reports sales for June 2016

RICHMOND HILL, ON, July 4, 2016 /CNW/ – Mazda Canada Inc. (MCI) today reported June sales of 6,728 vehicles, representing a decrease of 2.2 percent versus last year. Year-to-date (YTD) sales through June are down 1.9 percent versus last year, with 34,291 vehicles sold.

Key June 2016 sales notes:

  • The all-new 2016 CX-9 is off to a hot start with its best month of sales ever, with a year-over-year (YOY) increase of 305.2 percent.
  • MCI’s best-selling model continues to be the Mazda3, with 2,832 vehicles sold in June.
  • Mazda CX-5 had its best June sales ever with 2,281 vehicles sold, which is an increase of 22.0 percent versus June 2015. The CX-5 has now produced 13 straight months of record YOY sales.
  • Mazda’s subcompact CX-3 sold 783 vehicles in June, and is the third highest seller in the Mazda lineup, behind the Mazda3 and CX-5.  
  • With the new CX-9 joining the ranks, Mazda’s line of CX crossover vehicles continue a strong growth trend, with YOY sales increasing by 24.7 percent in June. 
  • Demand for the new MX-5 continues to soar, with the best June sales since 2008. YTD sales of the MX-5 are now up by 133.8 percent.
  • SKYACTIV Technology proves to be the key between performance and fuel efficiency as customers demand a no compromise solution. 97.3 percent of Mazda vehicles sold in June were equipped with SKYACTIV Technology.
