Mazda Canada reports sales for November 2018

RICHMOND HILL, ON, Dec. 3, 2018 /CNW/ – Mazda Canada Inc. (MCI) today reported November sales of 5,104 vehicles, representing a decrease of 14.8 percent versus November 2017. Year-to-date (YTD) sales are 69,882, which is an increase of 0.7 percent compared to the same period in 2017.

In November, Mazda Canada saw its lowest level of available inventory since production disruptions began in July due to heavy rains and flooding in Hiroshima, Japan. Starting in December, MCI’s inventory will begin to steadily increase again and is expected to return to normal operating levels by March 2019.

KEY NOVEMBER SALES NOTES:

  • CX-5 once again held a small sales lead among Mazda models in November with 1,972 units sold, versus 1,913 for second-place Mazda3, which still holds the sales lead for Mazda Canada year-to-date.
  • CX-9 finished the month with a gain of 14.6% compared to November 2017, marking the best November sales on record.
  • YTD sales of Mazda’s CX-line remains strong, with CX-3, CX-5 and CX-9 collectively reaching 3,089 vehicles sold in the month of November. While this number represents a decrease of 15.1 percent YOY, collective sales of CX-series crossovers are still up by 9.2 percent YTD.
  • With the early onset of winter in many parts of the country, Mazda’s predictive i-ACTIV All-Wheel Drive option continues to be a favorite among Mazda CX-line buyers, with 87.1 percent of customers choosing the AWD option in November.
