Mazda Canada reports sales for October 2016

RICHMOND HILL, ON, Nov. 1, 2016 /CNW/ – Mazda Canada Inc. (MCI) today reported October sales of  5,999 vehicles, representing a decrease of 3.4 percent versus last year. Year-to-date (YTD) sales through October are down 4.6 percent versus last year, with 58,758 vehicles sold.

Key October 2016 sales notes:

  • CX-9 sales jumped 200.0 percent year-over-year (YOY), with the best October sales since 2012.
  • Three months in a row makes a trend, as the best-selling model was the CX-5, once again ahead of the Mazda3.
  • Mazda CX-5 had its best October sales month ever with 2,410 vehicles sold, which is an increase of 18.7 percent versus October 2015.
  • Mazda’s subcompact CX-3 sold 779 vehicles in October, and is the third highest seller in the Mazda lineup, behind the CX-5 and Mazda3.  
  • With the new CX-9 in the ranks, Mazda’s line of CX crossover vehicles continues a strong growth trend, with YTD sales to the upside by 23.6 percent.   
  • SKYACTIV Technology proves to be the key between performance and fuel efficiency as customers demand a no compromise solution. 98.1 percent of Mazda vehicles sold in October were equipped with SKYACTIV Technology.
