Quebec City, Quebec (Thursday, October 15, 2015) – Chevrolet selected the Quebec City area to kick off its Canadian media drive event to introduce the all-new 2016 Volt extended-range electric car providing an electric range of 85 kilometres, greater efficiency, stronger acceleration and an overall no-compromise electric driving experience.

“We continue to offer greater electric driving choices with more electric range,” said David Paterson, GM Canada Vice President of Corporate and Environmental Affairs. “We want to ensure drivers learn about the tremendous advantages of electric vehicles like our 2016 Chevrolet Volt. Key to consumer interest and overall industry success is ensuring that we have the necessary market infrastructure. As such it is important that we all work collaboratively on improving availability of the charging infrastructure and other driver supports as we also offer the Chevrolet Spark EV and the upcoming Chevrolet Bolt EV.”

The Chevrolet Volt has been the best-selling Plug-in Electric vehicle in Canada for the last 4 calendar years and Quebec is the leading Canadian province for Plug-in Electric vehicle sales, with the Volt being almost 50% of all electric vehicle sales in the province.

Paterson said, “The all new Chevrolet Volt has been built with extensive input from our customers and more than a billion kilometres of customer EV driving.”

The 2016 Chevrolet Volt’s advanced “connected car” technology and extended range advancements are complemented by a design that blends sculpted, muscular proportions with aerodynamic efficiency, and an all-new interior with seating for five and improved functionality.

Everything from charging the battery and checking the charge status, to the intuitiveness of instrument panel controls were designed for easier use. The 2016 Chevrolet Volt also has standard 4G/LTE wifi capability and Apple Car Play smartphone integration, with the addition of Android Auto in early 2016.

“According to independent surveyors, Volt owners are the most satisfied in the industry and they were our compass for developing the next-generation model,” said Paterson.

The 2016 Volt will go on sale in Canada later this Fall.
