A brand new beast will be coming to Canada’s wilderness. The all-new Ford F-150 Raptor SuperCrew was announced at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit.
Like previous models, this Raptor has the DNA of a Baja race truck, with a purpose-built engine, chassis and suspension that lets it travel fast over Canada’s challenging frozen landscapes or crawl over seriously rocky terrain.
“The F-150 Raptor means superior off-road capability, from rock crawling to sand running,” said Dave Pericak, Ford Performance global director.

Ford’s fiercest and smartest off-road vehicle comes equipped with new qualities that make it a ferocious beauty: better agility, performance and traction with more room. “With the addition of SuperCrew, F-150 Raptor customers can leave the pavement behind – without sacrificing comfort and space,” said Pericak.
We added room – and agility
With four full-size doors and a wheelbase that is a foot longer than the Raptor SuperCab, the SuperCrew boasts more legroom for passengers and storage space for gear. It does this while shedding 500 pounds from the previous Raptor thanks to new high-strength, military-grade aluminum alloy and high-strength steel replacing heavier parts.
A lighter vehicle combined with Ford’s EcoBoost engine technology translates to a better power-to-weight ratio. The Raptor is also six inches wider than the standard F-150, making it a more stable and agile off-road truck.
Better traction
Available for purchase in Canada this coming fall, the Raptor SuperCrew also comes with improvements that will upgrade traction and performance. Everyday driving conditions as well as snow, ice, mud and sand are handled through the all-new Terrain Management System with six preset modes.
Beadlock-capable wheels increase grip in low-traction conditions and a Torsen front differential puts more power in the front end to help the truck pull itself over obstacles.
Unmatched performance
Meanwhile, the V6, 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine delivers more power than the 411 horsepower and 434 pound-feet of torque produced by the 6.2-liter V8 it is replacing. All of this power is efficiently transferred to off-road driving capabilities by the 10-speed transmission.
