NISSAN CONFIRMS DRIVERS FOR 2012 MOTORSPORT PROGRAMS

Nissan Europe announces 2012 drivers, all of whom have graduated from a Nissan PlayStation® GT Academy: Lucas Ordonez, Jordan Tresson and Jann Mardenborough.

The initial 3 graduates of GT Academy – Lucas Ordonez, Jordan Tresson and Jann Mardenborough – will contest for Nissan in 2012 in 3 of a world’s tip continuation racing series.

As 26 year-old Spaniard Lucas Ordonez demonstrated during a Le Mans 24 Hours final year, GT Academy is now a proven process, branch out drivers who are prepared to foe opposite tip general competition. Ordonez is GT Academy’s biggest success story to date and he has now assimilated Greaves Motorsport’s European Le Mans Series debate in sequence to take his subsequent challenge. He will be racing for altogether championship honours in an LMP2 Zytek-Nissan alongside Tom Kimber-Smith and Alex Brundle. At a Le Mans 24 Hours he will foe with Martin and Alex Brundle.

“2011 was an implausible year for me,” pronounced Ordonez. “I schooled a lot with Signatech Nissan. They believed in me and devoted me to get a pursuit done. Nissan has set me my subsequent challenge: an altogether championship victory. With dual tip team-mates and a championship-winning organisation we am aiming to win a European Le Mans Series outright. The Le Mans 24 Hours will again be a large plea for me and I’m really most looking brazen to racing with Martin (Brundle) as we will learn a lot from him. With Martin, Alex and myself we consider we will have one of a strongest line-ups in LMP2. It feels good to be means to contend that!”

The motorist with a steepest training bend in 2012 is 23 year-old Frenchman Jordan Tresson. The 2010 GT Academy leader has finished a championship-winning entrance deteriorate in GT racing though is now stepping adult to a LMP2 category of a new FIA World Endurance Championship with Signatech Nissan. He will also follow in Ordonez’s footsteps by competing during a Le Mans 24 Hours this summer.

“I am holding a really large step adult from GT racing to LMP2 this year,” pronounced Tresson. “I have tested a automobile already and it is so discerning by a corners! we will have to work tough though we am prepared for it. Racing during Le Mans, generally for a French driver, is a special dream. To be racing with a French team, both during Le Mans and in a FIA World Endurance Championship during so many mythological foe tracks, is roughly some-more than we can imagine. It will not be an easy year. Our opponents will be tough; a LMP2 category is large and there will be many cars with Nissan engines. we can’t wait to get started on a exam programme now as this is moulding adult to be a biggest event of my life.”

The youngest and newest partisan is 20 year-old Jann Mardenborough. The British motorist won a third deteriorate of GT Academy only a few months ago. He has been by a severe GT Academy training programme in credentials for a deteriorate in a Blancpain Endurance Series where he will foe Nissan’s new GT3 foe car: a Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3.

“A year ago we was on a opening year and hadn’t even practical to enter GT Academy and now I’m streamer into my initial full deteriorate as a racing driver,” explained Mardenborough. “I have had an implausible 6 months on a GT Academy motorist growth programme where we have been entirely knocked into figure by a organisation of instructors who we am certain will be lifelong friends. I’m super vehement about racing a Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3. There are no nerves, we only wish to impulse on and exam a new car. Starting a deteriorate during Monza in Apr will be a large impulse for me and we can’t wait!”
