Nissan: Nissan and Nismo start Super GT championship defense

YOKOHAMA, JAPAN NISMO has triumphed in 4 of a past 5 Super GT GT500 championship battles and now Nissan has a sights set on repeating a winning ways when a 2016 championship kicks off this weekend in Okayama, Japan.

Last year’s championship feat by Tsugio Matsuda and Ronnie Quintarelli was their second uninterrupted pretension win and Quintarelli’s fourth in sum (he won with Masataka Yanagida in 2011 and 2012).

The GT-R has now claimed a Super GT GT500 climax on 5 occasions though 2016 was a initial in Super GT GT300 for a GT-R. Nissan formerly claimed a GT300 pretension in 2008 and 2010 with a Nissan Fairlady Z Z33.

In GT300 former GT Academy leader Jann Mardenborough will competition full-time in Japan with NDDP Racing alongside two-time GT300 champion, Kazuki Hoshino.

Sunday’s opening turn of a championship will be fought over 82 laps (300km) starting during 2:20pm internal time. In final year’s opening turn of a championship Hironobu Yasuda and JP de Oliveira were a tip Nissan performers in third place with Hoshino and Lucas Ordóñez scoring fourth position in GT300.
