NEW YORK – Nissan chairman and CEO Carlos Ghosn today previewed the new 2016 Nissan Altima during a series of business media appearances in New York City.

Nissan performance in Canada is on a record pace in 2015, with August 2015 marking 25 consecutive months of sales growth. Nissan Group sales are up 9.6 per cent through August. The growth has been fueled in part by a 29 per cent increase in Nissan Rogue sales and a 45 per cent increase in sales of the all-new Nissan Murano.

Altima, Nissan’s best-selling vehicle in North America, has been redesigned for the 2016 model year, including new exterior and interior styling, enhanced technology and connectivity, a new Altima SR sports model (2.5) and new safety features such as segment-exclusive* Predictive Forward Collision Warning (PFCW).

The 2016 Altima is available in a choice of six models – 2.5, 2.5 S, 2.5 SR, 2.5 SV, 2.5 SL, and 3.5 SL. The five 2.5 litre models feature a 182-horsepower 2.5-litre DOHC inline 4-cylinder engine, while 3.5-litre Altima offers a 270-horsepower 3.5-litre DOHC V6.

The new 2016 Nissan Altima is scheduled to go on sale early 2016. Full information on the vehicle will be released later today by executive vice president, Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. and Nissan North America chairman José Muñoz at a meeting of the Automotive Press Association in Detroit.
