Nissan: Nissan Group reports January 2016 Canadian sales

MISSISSAUGA, ONT. – Nissan Group today announced monthly Canadian sales of 8,404 units, an increase of 18.0 per cent over last year and the best January in the company’s history. This sales achievement marks 30 consecutive months of record sales for the Nissan Group in Canada.

Nissan brand sales increased 17.5 per cent with 7,599 units sold, setting a new January sales record.

Nissan Division January highlights:

  • Nissan’s best-selling vehicle in Canada – the Nissan Rogue crossover – set a January record at 2,089 – an increase of 11.5 per cent, marking 26 consecutive months of record sales.
  • The Murano crossover set a new January sales record at 989 units, an increase of 72.6 per cent.
  • Sales of the Pathfinder sport utility vehicle set a January record at 752, an increase of 28.1 per cent.
  • Sales of the JUKE sport cross set a January record at 341, an increase of 61.6 per cent.
  • Sales of the Frontier mid-size truck set a January record at 230, an increase of 16.8 per cent.
  • The fully-electric Nissan LEAF set a monthly sales record with 72 units sold, up 100.0 per cent.
  • Sales of the all-new Maxima sport sedan increased 81.2 per cent to 154 units.

Infiniti January highlights:

  • Infiniti reported sales of 805, an increase of 22.5 per cent versus a year earlier. This marks the best January for Infiniti in Canada.
  • Infiniti crossovers and sport utility vehicles continued to be in demand this month with the QX80 full-size luxury SUV setting an all-time monthly sales record of 94 units, an increase of 213.3 per cent.
  • The QX50 luxury crossover set a January sales record with 161 units sold, an increase of 30.9 per cent.
