Nissan: Nissan Group reports March 2016 U.S. sales

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Nissan Group today announced total U.S. sales for March 2016 of 163,559 units, an increase of 13 percent over the prior year and a best month ever record.

Nissan highlights:

  • Nissan Division finished March with 149,784 sales, up 13 percent, a best month ever record.
  • Overall sales of Nissan crossovers, trucks and SUVs set a best month ever record, up 9 percent.
  • Sales of the Rogue crossover set a best month ever record with sales 27,713, up 1 percent.
  • Sales of the Murano crossover increased 56 percent to 8,657.
  • Nissan’s total car sales set a best month ever record with 88,278 in sales, up 16 percent.
  • Sales of the Sentra compact sedan increased 23 percent to 26,201, setting a March record.
  • Nissan Versa sales increased to 12 percent to 16,255, setting a March record.
  • Nissan Maxima sales climbed to 6,588, up 139%.

NOTE: To ensure consistency in global sales reporting, Nissan North America calculates monthly variances on a straight-percentage basis, unadjusted for the number of selling days.  March 2016 had 27 selling days while March 2015 had 25 selling days.
