Nissan: Nissan presented Renaissance Award from International Association of Business Communicators (IABC)

DEARBORN, Mich. Nissan was recognized as an award recipient at the 36th annual International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) Renaissance Awards. Yesterday’s award acknowledges Nissan in the “media relations” category for the activation delivering an exclusive preview of “Battle Test: A Nissan 360-degree Virtual Reality Experience,” which was created by Lucasfilm’s visual effects division, Industrial Light Magic.

The media event served as a first look at the new 360 virtual reality experience, which placed fans in the center of a simulated battlefield from “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.”  The preview was accompanied by a behind-the-scenes guided tour of Lucasfilm Ltd. headquarters. Media guests also had the chance to speak with creative team members from Nissan and Lucasfilm for a deeper dive into the experience’s creation. Nissan leveraged this storytelling opportunity to connect with new media from entertainment and sci-fi publications.

“Our collaboration with Lucasfilm has allowed Nissan to connect with an entirely new media audience,” said Kristina Adamski, vice president, corporate communications, Nissan North America, Inc. “Leveraging this collaboration to forge new media relationships has been a rewarding experience for our team and the Nissan brand, and we are excited to earn recognition from our communications peers today.”

The 36th annual IABC Renaissance Awards presentation of winners’ luncheon was held Wednesday, Oct. 4, in Dearborn, Mich.
