Nissan: Nissan reports May 2016 sales for Europe

ROLLE, Switzerland – Nissan announced today European sales for May of 58,341 units (Nissan and Datsun), representing a market share of 3.5 percent. Calendar year sales to date total 317,328 units with a market share of 3.9 percent.

May highlights:

  • Sales in the UK totaled 12,339 units with a market share of 5.2 percent. Calendar year sales total 69,045 units and market share is 5.2 percent
  • Sales in France totaled 6,436 units and a market share of 3.3  percent. Calendar year sales total 34,409 units and market share is 3.4 percent.
  • Nissan in Italy recorded sales of 6,210 units in May with a market share of 3.1 percent Calendar year sales to date total 30,443 and market share is 3.2 percent.
  • Sales in Germany totaled 5,831 units recording the best May result in the market since 2011, with a market share of 2 percent. Calendar year sales to date total 33,024 units and market share is 2.2 percent.
  • Sales in Spain totaled 6,223 units and a market share of 4.8 percent – Nissan Spain’s best May result since 2005. Calendar year sales to date total 27,891 units and market share is 4.9 percent.
  • In Norway, the Nissan LEAF is the third best-selling vehicle in the market in calendar year 2016 to date.
  • Datsun sales in Russia totaled 1,538 units in May with 6,826 units sold from January to May 2016.
