Nissan Production, Sales, Export Results for July 2011

Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. today announced its production, sales and export figures for July 2011.

1. Production
Nissan’s global production in July increased 17.6% year-on-year to 388,680 units, marking an all-time record for the month of July.

Production in Japan increased 15.3% year-on-year to 111,790 units, mainly due to increased demand for Juke, Rogue and Murano.

Production outside of Japan saw an increase of 18.6% year-on-year to 276,890 units, marking an all-time record for the month of July.

In the U.S., production increased 24.0% year-on-year to 38,209 units, mainly due to increased demand for Altima.

In Mexico, production decreased 26.9% year-on-year to 33,220 units, despite increased demand for the new March and the new Versa.

In the U.K., production increased 10.9% year-on-year to 33,147 units, due to increased demand for Juke.

In Spain, production increased 51.5% year-on-year to 15,751 units, mainly due to increased demand for Primastar.

In China, production increased 28.6% year-on-year to 111,366 units, due to increased demand for Sunny, the new Tiida and Qashqai, marking an all-time record for the month of July.

Production in other regions increased 49.0% year-on-year to 45,197 units, mainly due to increased demand for March/Micra in Thailand and India.

2. Sales
Global sales increased 8.1% year-on-year to 378,879 units, marking an all-time record for the month of July.

Including mini-vehicles, Nissan sold 52,287 units in Japan, down 17.3% year-on-year, due to effects of the earthquake on March 11 and the termination of the government subsidy program for environmentally-friendly vehicles.

In Japan, vehicle registrations in July decreased 17.6% year-on-year to 41,806 units, despite increased demand for the new Lafesta Highway Star.

Domestic sales of mini-vehicles were down 16.1% from the previous year, to 10,481 units.

Sales outside of Japan increased 13.7% year-on-year to 326,592 units, marking an all-time record for the month of July.

Sales in the U.S. increased 2.7% year-on-year to 84,601 units, mainly due to increased demand for Altima, Rogue and Juke.

In Europe, sales increased 16.0% year-on-year to 55,065 units, due to favorable sales in Russia and increased demand for Juke.

In China, sales saw an increase of 26.0% year-on-year to 100,115 units, mainly due to increased demand for Sunny and Qashqai, marking an all-time record for the month of July.

Sales in other regions increased 13.9% year-on-year to 62,474 units, mainly due to increased demand in Indonesia and Brazil.

3. Japan Exports
Nissan’s exports in July increased 23.2% year-on-year to 69,206 units.

Exports to North America increased 35.1% year-on-year to 40,000 units, mainly due to increased demand for Rogue and Juke.

Exports to Europe increased 64.2% year-on-year to 10,188 units, mainly due to increased demand for X-Trail and Juke.
