Omar Rivera Rejoins Hyundai Motor America as Director of Quality and Service Engineering

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., Jan. 5, 2018 – Hyundai believes in providing its vehicle owners with an excellent product experience and to further that initiative is bringing back Omar Rivera to be the director of Quality and Service Engineering. In this role, Omar will be responsible for leading the team tasked with providing Hyundai owners with an exceptional product experience including model line engineering, part and accessory quality assurance, and engineering analysis, among other responsibilities.

He is an industry veteran with strong experience helping vehicle owners receive the best possible ownership experience,” said Barry Ratzlaff, vice president, Customer Satisfaction, Hyundai Motor America. “Omar’s leadership skills and expertise will help further improve the Hyundai product experience in our ongoing effort to ensure the highest levels of customer satisfaction in the industry.”

Rivera officially stepped into the role at Hyundai on Monday, Dec. 18. He was most recently the head of After Sales Operations at Faraday Future and prior to that, was the director of Global Service Operations at Tesla Motors. Rivera previously served Hyundai Motor America as senior group manager of Service Engineering, senior manager of Field Service Engineering and manager of Quality Strategy. Earlier in his career, Rivera spent time working at Ford in various roles.

Rivera holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Detroit Mercy in Detroit.
