“In Höljes, we won in 2014 and 2015. It goes but observant that I’d have favourite to bind my third large prize there,” says a reigning Rallycross World Champion. “But a DTM has priority and, regrettably, we can’t separate myself in half. Fortunately, my boss, Dieter Gass, done a preference for me.”

His Swedish compatriot P-G Andersson will take Ekström’s place in Höljes. The 2004 and 2007 Junior Rally World Champion is no foreigner to a World RX. In 2014, he debuted in a 560-hp Audi S1 EKS RX quattro during a World RX turn in Turkey. In a 2015 season, a now 37-year-old Andersson contested 10 rounds in a VW Polo for Marklund Motorsport, scoring a fourth place in Belgium as his best result. “When Mattias called me we didn’t consider twice. The event to lay in his automobile again and to contest opposite a world’s best rallycross campaigners is an respect for me, generally in Höljes of all places. we can frequency wait doing my initial laps in Friday’s giveaway practice.”

Competing in Sweden alongside Andersson will be EKS’ unchanging drivers Toomas Heikkinen and Reinis Nitišs. “Höljes is no doubt a craziest World RX turn of a year,” says Heikkinen. “Every year, a fans celebration large time there in a Swedish background with music, BBQ and rallycross. Our focus, of course, is on racing. Even but Mattias we’d like to recapture second place in a teams’ standings.” His teammate Nitišs has high expectations of a seventh in a sum twelve rounds too: “In 2014 and 2015, we only hardly missed a lectern in fourth and fifth during Höljes. I’d like to do improved this time. The ‘Magic Weekend’ would indeed be sorcery if we could applaud my initial prize win with EKS on Sunday.”
