SEAT is currently experiencing a moment of significant growth and is poised to employ 150 new employees recruited through temporary work agencies to meet increasing demand at the Martorell factory. These workers will be joining the company with a new contract starting 7 January in addition to the 200 whose names were added to the SEAT payroll last October.

So far this year, SEAT has hired over 800 new employees, 233 this week alone, including the 45 who graduated from the first dual system professional training programme and were hired last July with a full-time contract.

SEAT Vice-President for Human Resources Josef Schelchshorn pointed out that “we are doing very well. The huge success of the models built by SEAT in Martorell and the efforts made by all the workers is making it possible for us to generate more employment”.

SEAT Vice-President for Production Dr. Andreas Tostmann underlined that “the SEAT factory in Martorell is Spain’s largest car producer and one of the most competitive, efficient and modern plants in Europe, creating wealth and new jobs”.

Production in Martorell, the factory that concentrates the highest manufacturing volume of SEAT vehicles, has gone up by 13.4% in the first ten months of the year compared to the same period last year and currently stands at 374,700 units, an increase of 44,400 vehicles.

Furthermore, SEAT sales are also going up. The company closed the month of October with 326,000 sold cars on the books, which is 10.5% more than between January and October of 2013. Sales have received a significant boost by the SEAT Leon, whose success has risen by 55% this year.
