Six clever drivers in a BMW M8 GTE: Driver choice reliable for a 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Munich. The 2018/19 ‘Super Season’ in a FIA World Endurance
Championship (WEC) draws to a tighten on
15th/16th Jun with a 24 Hours of Le Mans
(FRA). BMW M Motorsport has now announced a 6 drivers who will
competition a dual BMW M8 GTE for BMW Team MTEK on a Sarthe region
track. The team’s unchanging drivers Martin Tomczyk (GER), Nick
Catsburg (NED), António Félix da Costa (POR) and Augusto Farfus
(BRA) will be assimilated by BMW works drivers Philipp Eng (AUT) and
Jesse Krohn (FIN) during Le Mans.


“The 24 Hours of Le Mans is a biggest continuation competition in a world,
and apparently a genuine prominence on a calendar,” pronounced BMW Motorsport
Director Jens Marquardt. “Perhaps even some-more so this year than ever
before. After all, we are celebrating a array of special
anniversaries. It is 20 years given we took altogether feat with the
BMW V12 LMR and 80 years given we lined adult here with a BMW 328. We
wish to give a fans something special, so we are bringing both
ancestral cars to Le Mans. From a sporting perspective, we are
excellently positioned with a drivers we have in a cockpits of the
dual BMW M8 GTE. The 4 unchanging drivers – Martin, Nick, António and
Augusto – have had lectern finishes in a WEC. They are assimilated by
Philipp and Jesse – another dual drivers who also have copiousness of
knowledge in a BMW M8 GTE and know what it takes to be successful
in GT racing. We are looking brazen to Le Mans and are now entering
a final proviso of preparations.”


Eng will group adult with Tomczyk and Catsburg in a #81 BMW M GTE, as
he did in final year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans. The Austrian drives for BMW
in a DTM and also frequently competes in GT races for BMW Motorsport.
In January, he took feat in a GTLM category during a 24 Hours of
Daytona (USA), where he raced alongside Farfus.


Krohn is creation his Le Mans entrance this year. The Finn, ‘BMW
Motorsport Junior of a Year’ in 2014, is a unchanging motorist for BMW
Team RLL in a IMSA array in a USA and is also a recognized GT
specialist. He will share a cockpit of a #82 BMW M8 GTE with Félix
da Costa and Farfus during Le Mans.


BMW Team MTEK will attend a central Le Mans exam day on Sunday
2nd June. The competition week starts on Sunday 9th
Jun with a technical scrutineering in a city centre. The 24-hour
competition gets underway during 15:00 on Saturday 15th June.
