Soundbites: 2014 Ford Fiesta and Fiesta ST

Small cars continue to be a hot segment in North America and with the new Fiesta, introduced at the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show, Ford is expected to have the hottest small cars on the road. Liz Elser, Marketing Manager of the Ford Fiesta says, small is big when it comes to new cars.

“It’s going to go further with fuel economy, with the 1-liter engine it’s going to have best in class fuel economy, in addition to that it’s going to have the beautiful new sleek design, the Ford DNA with the chrome grill, and it’s going to have a suite of class exclusive technological features that will really satisfy the target customer.” :17 sec.
 
Elser explained who that target customer is.
Cut #3:
“Fiesta definitely over indexes in millennial buyers, which are those buyers that were born between… 79 and 95… so the younger set, that are just kind of getting their drivers licenses now and buying their first vehicle. Also people that just like a fun car that’s very fuel efficient.” :18 sec.
 
According to Elser, Fiesta is loaded with a dazzling array of features and technologies that proves small is smart.

“This 2014 Fiesta will have the My Ford Touch Edition… It’s going to be a 6.5 inch LCD touch screen, and it’s exactly what this customer wants. They want to be seamlessly connected when they get into their car and My Ford Touch delivers that.” :14 sec.
 
Elser says, unlike the competition, Fiesta ST doesn’t simply look like a performance car; it’s got the guts to back it up.

“Little bigger engine, it’s our 1.6 liter EcoBoost engine that’s coming in the Fiesta ST. It’s expected to deliver a hundred and ninety-seven horsepower and two-hundred fifteen pound feet of torque. That’s what’s great about EcoBoost… it delivers performance and fuel economy.” :14 sec.
 
Both the 2014 Ford Fiesta and the 2014 Ford Fiesta ST go on sale in the Spring of 2013.
