The second generation of the A5 Coupé has sharpened its looks and offers customers plenty of high tech. A wider and flatter Singleframe grille, the distinctive air inlets and the long, low engine hood with a power dome characterize the completely new front end. The side view is dominated by a three-dimensional, wave-shaped shoulder line typical for the A5 Coupé. Numerous technologies that underscore the premium character of the A5 Coupé are available, including Audi connect, Matrix LED headlights, adaptive cruise control StopGo including traffic jam assist, Audi virtual cockpit and the 3D sound system from Bang Olufsen.
The newly developed chassis is simultaneously sporty and comfortable. With optional damper control, the driver can even actively influence the ride at the push of a button thanks to the standard Audi drive select. The engineers have increased the output of the new engines by 17 percent compared with the previous model. At the same time, they reduced fuel consumption by up to 22 percent and weight by as much as 60 kilograms (132.3 lb). There is currently a choice of three engines for the A5 Coupé: the 2.0 TFSI with 185 kW (252 hp), the 2.0 TDI with 140 kW (190 hp) and the six-cylinder TDI with 160 kW (218 hp). Prices start at 43,150 euros.
In the S5 Coupé, the 3.0 TFSI with 260 kW (354 hp) combines sports car performance with a new degree of efficiency. The turbocharged V6 engine accelerates the top model from 0 to 100 km/h (62.1 mph) in 4.7 seconds and consumes just 7.3 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers (32.2 US mpg). S5 emblems on the exterior and S-specific interior details underscore the power. The extensive list of standard equipment includes LED headlights, 18-inch cast aluminum wheels, S sport suspension, an eight-speed tiptronic and quattro drive. The price for the new S5 Coupé is 62,500 euros.
