Strong partners at home outing: BMW i presents the FIA Formula E BMW i Berlin E-PRIX.

Munich. BMW i and the ABB FIA Formula E Championship are
stepping up their close cooperation: In addition to the commitment
as “Official Vehicle Partner”, which has been in place since the
inaugural Formula E season, BMW i will also present the race in
Berlin (GER) as title sponsor in the coming years. The new
involvement kicks off with the 2018 FIA Formula E BMW i Berlin
E-PRIX on 19th May.

BMW’s home event will not only offer German Formula E fans the
opportunity to check out the official safety car fleet – spearheaded
by the Qualcomm BMW i8 Coupé Safety Car – but also to witness the
MSAD Andretti Formula E Team in action, as they go in search of
top results with BMW works drivers António Félix da Costa (POR) and
Tom Blomqvist (GBR).

“The title partnership for the German round of the ABB FIA Formula E
Championship in Berlin is a key component of our extensive commitment
to this series,” said Jörg Reimann, Vice President BMW Brand
Experience. “For BMW, the opportunity to actively shape the event and
offer visitors a unique BMW brand experience is always at the heart of
this kind of cooperation. That is precisely what we will be doing at
the FIA Formula E BMW i Berlin E-PRIX, alongside Formula E.”

Alejandro Agag, founder and CEO of Formula E, said: “The race in
Berlin has featured on the calendar every season and we’ve been
working closely alongside BMW i for equally as long, so it’s pleasing
to see their growing commitment to the series. BMW i has always been
supportive of the ABB FIA Formula E Championship since the very
beginning – both as official vehicle partner and now as the race title
partner of the BMW i Berlin E-PRIX. I’m looking forward to seeing the
fans showing up in force for what I’m sure will be another
scintillating spectacle at Tempelhof Airport.”

The next round, before the FIA Formula E BMW i Berlin E-PRIX, is in
Paris (FRA) on 28th April. Following the German race, the
first championship for fully-electric racing cars enters the finishing
straight with events in Zürich (SUI) and New York (USA).

* The fuel consumption and CO2 emissions figures shown
were determined according to the European Regulation (EC) 715/2007 in
the version applicable at the time of type approval. The figures refer
to a vehicle with basic configuration in Germany and the range shown
considers the different size of the selected wheels and tires.

The CO2 efficiency specifications are determined according
to Directive 1999/94/EC and the Pkw-EnVKV, and based (for
classification) on the fuel consumption and CO2 values as
per the NEDC cycle.

Further information on official fuel consumption figures and specific
CO2 emission values of new passenger cars is included in
the following guideline: “Leitfaden über Kraftstoffverbrauch, die
CO2-Emissionen und den Stromverbrauch neuer
Personenkraftwagen” (Guideline for fuel consumption,
CO2 emissions and electric power consumption of new
passenger cars), which can be obtained free of charge from all
