Two Timos enter uncharted territory: Scheider takes Glock for a spin on the Rallycross track in the BMW M4 DTM Race Taxi.

Hockenheim. There was a special meeting of two friends at the
opening race weekend of the 2017 DTM season: Timo Glock (GER) and
Timo Scheider (GER) took to the track together in the DEUTSCHE POST
BMW M4 DTM Race Taxi in Hockenheim (GER). But that was not all:
Scheider, making his debut at the wheel of a BMW DTM car, took his
passenger Glock for an unusual ride on the Rallycross track.

The two BMW drivers first came up with the idea of hitting top speed
together in a race car. Without further ado, Glock invited his good
friend to try his hand at the wheel of the “Yellow Beast”. However,
Scheider surprised the 35-year-old when he suddenly turned onto the
section of the Hockenheimring that will host the FIA World Rallycross
Championship this weekend. This was the first time a BMW DTM car had
taken to the narrow RX track, and the duo kicked up plenty of dust.

“Rarely have I had so much fun in the passenger seat,” said Glock
after the action-packed trip. “It was only right that Timo should know
how it feels to drive a BMW DTM car. To be allowed on the Rallycross
track was just awesome. It was a great experience for both of us.”

“I have plenty of experience in DTM cars,” said Scheider. “However,
driving the BMW M4 DTM Race Taxi on the Rallycross track was an
awesome experience. I had never driven a DTM car on a surface like
that. It was quite spectacular, and so much fun – a really cool stunt!”
